Thai Nguyen Province, the “First Land of Fine Tea”, has long woven its reputation through five distinct tea regions. Today, this rich tea heritage is blending with tourism, embarking on a journey to the global stage, propelled by a strong impetus from the commune level.
Vo Tranh Commune – a newly merged locality – hosted a seminar titled "Developing Community-Based Tourism Associated with Tea Culture" on June 16 in Thai Nguyen. Orchestrated by the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center, this field-based workshop gathered travel agencies, media outlets, and digital content creators during a famtrip-presstrip.

Chu Thi Do, Deputy Director of the center, emphasized that this initiative fulfills the Provincial Party Committee’s Scheme 17 (2026-2030) to create unique, competitive tourism products.
Concurrently, Hoang Xuan Thuy, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee of Vo Tranh Commune, expressed a desire to acquire feasible travel solutions to unlock local potential. These grassroots efforts align with Resolution 11 (issued on February 3, 2025), aiming to transform high-tech organic tea production integrated with ecotourism into a billion-dollar industry.
This momentum is further boosted by the draft resolution of the Provincial People’s Council supporting community tourism.

Vo Tranh boasts 17 One Commune One Product (OCOP) products and the province's largest organic tea area of 40 hectares. Beyond tea flavor, the land preserves a national intangible cultural heritage (2014): the Tac Xinh dance of the San Chay people.
At Dat Phat tea space, the rustic sounds of bamboo tubes and earth drums accompany dances mimicking ancestral labor. Following the commune merger, clubs have flourished, connecting members like mechanic Hoang Van Quyet.
Crucially, the heritage fire burns through four generations of Trac Thi Hau’s family (born 1945), who revived this ancestral dance from near-oblivion.
With government aspiration, cultural richness, and public consensus, Vo Tranh is poised to help Thai Nguyen tourism welcome 12 million visitors (including 1 million international guests) by 2030.
