The first Congress of the Tuyen Quang Literature and Arts Association concluded successfully on July 30, marking a new chapter for the organization following the merger of the former Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang associations after the two provinces were unified.
The two-day congress brought together 150 delegates representing six artistic disciplines, alongside leaders of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, provincial officials, and representatives from neighboring provincial associations.

The newly established association has 284 members and aims to foster literary and artistic creativity while preserving the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam’s northern frontier.
Over the past term, despite organizational challenges during the merger, the association organized creative camps, professional training, field trips, and published numerous literary works and the Tuyen Quang Literature and Arts Magazine. Many local authors also received national and regional awards.
Addressing the congress, musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said the provincial merger had created a broader cultural space that would inspire new artistic achievements.
He encouraged artists to embrace digital transformation, nurture young talent, and produce works reflecting the region’s history, cultural identity, and development aspirations.

Colonel and writer Phung Van Khai, Editor-in-Chief of Military Literature Magazine, urged local artists to preserve the resilience and dedication of a soldier in their creative work, producing meaningful literature that serves the people while celebrating Tuyen Quang’s history and cultural identity.
Delegates elected an 11-member executive committee for the 2026-2031 term, with poet Ta Ba Huong chosen as the association’s first chairman.
