On February 5, 2026, Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng led a delegation from the General Department of Political Affairs to visit and extend New Year greetings to Military Arts and Literature Magazine.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng conveyed his warmest New Year wishes to all officers, soldiers, reporters, editors, and the families of staff members of Military Arts and Literature Magazine. He also acknowledged and commended the collective efforts, dedication, and outstanding achievements the Magazine attained in 2025.

Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng noted that in recent years, amid rapid and complex changes in the global and regional situation as well as in the country’s cultural and social life, Military Arts and Literature Magazine has steadfastly upheld its political orientation and cultural identity, closely followed the realities of military activities, and profoundly and humanely portrayed the image of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers.” The Magazine has truly become a “bedside book” for a wide range of officers and soldiers, especially those stationed in remote, border, and island areas.

He affirmed that the Magazine’s ideological depth, humanistic values, and positive influence have made an important contribution to strengthening the political steadfastness of the troops and reinforcing their confidence in the leadership of the Party, the State, and the Army. He highly appreciated the Magazine’s recent innovations and creativity, particularly its efforts to maintain and enhance the quality of theoretical and literary–artistic criticism sections.

Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng emphasized that 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th Military Party Congress - an especially significant year. Accordingly, Military Arts and Literature Magazine should continue to firmly uphold its political orientation, serving as a reliable voice of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence on the cultural and ideological front. At the same time, it should further renew its content and presentation, draw closer to young readers and young soldiers, and pay greater attention to nurturing and developing a network of contributors, particularly young writers within the Army.

Regarding preparations for the Lunar New Year (Tết), he requested that the Magazine strictly observe duty regulations, ensure safety, thrift, and a joyful atmosphere, and pay due attention to the material and spiritual well-being of its staff, especially those facing difficult circumstances.

Colonel and writer Nguyễn Bình Phương expresses his gratitude for the care and sentiments of Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng.

On behalf of the Party Committee, Editorial Board, and all officers, reporters, and editors of Military Arts and Literature Magazine, Colonel and writer Nguyễn Bình Phương, Editor-in-Chief of the Magazine, sincerely thanked the leadership of the General Department of Political Affairs for their attention, encouragement, and close guidance. He affirmed that Military Arts and Literature Magazine is a distinctive cultural unit with a rich tradition, staffed by officers and writers who are Party members and members of the Vietnam Writers’ Association. This tradition, he noted, is both a source of pride and a great responsibility for every officer and soldier of the Magazine.

Colonel Nguyễn Bình Phương stressed that the Magazine’s collective will thoroughly study and concretize the directives of the General Department of Political Affairs’ leadership in its work plans, striving to achieve even greater results in 2026, worthy of the trust of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence, and readers nationwide.

Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng once again extended his best New Year wishes to all officers, soldiers, reporters, editors, and the families of staff members of Military Arts and Literature Magazine

Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng in conversation with Colonel and writer Nguyễn Bảo, former Editor-in-Chief of Military Arts and Literature Magazine, and poet Hữu Thỉnh, former President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.

On the occasion of the New Year, the officers and soldiers of Military Arts and Literature Magazine respectfully wish Senior Lieutenant General Đỗ Xuân Tụng and the members of the delegation good health and happiness, and express their hope to continue receiving the attention, leadership, and guidance of senior leaders and higher authorities so that the Magazine may grow ever stronger and successfully fulfill all assigned tasks.
