A delegation from Military Literature Magazine, led by Colonel and writer Phung Van Khai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief, met with the Phu Tho Union of Literature and Arts Associations on September 11 to discuss opportunities for closer literary and cultural cooperation.

Le Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Union, shared updates following the merger of the literature and arts associations of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh into the new Phu Tho Union. Building on the traditions of the three former provinces, the Union has expanded its activities, with Van Nghe Dat To (The Ancestral Land Arts and Literature Magazine) now published twice a month, alongside regular exhibitions, book launches and other cultural events.
The meeting brought together writers, poets and artists, many of them long-time contributors to Military Literature Magazine. Veteran poet Kim Dung praised Phung Van Khai’s historical novels and proposed closer cooperation between the magazine and Hung Vuong University to promote literary works on the region’s history and wartime heritage.
Poet Hai Thanh suggested that military writers help explore and connect the distinctive cultural and historical values of the three regions now forming Phu Tho: the ancestral land of Phu Tho, the Mother Land of Vinh Phuc and the Muong cultural region of Hoa Binh.
Writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy said the new administrative space offers a rich cultural landscape, from folk traditions and festivals to revolutionary history and wartime sites, providing abundant material for literary creation. He called for stronger cooperation in publishing, creative projects, heritage promotion and cultural development.
Phung Van Khai expressed hope that the two sides would continue exploring lesser-known historical and cultural values, creating new inspiration for literature and the arts while bringing the identity of the ancestral land into sharper focus.
