Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Nguyen Trong Nghia met artists and writers in Hanoi on March 13, praising their contributions to national development and defense while emphasizing the vital role of culture, literature, and the arts in nurturing patriotism and strengthening the spirit of the armed forces.

Speaking at the event, Nghia acknowledged the contributions of researchers, artists, and writers to the cause of national construction, defense, and the development of the military.
He stressed that culture and the arts play a special role in nurturing the courage, character, and spirit of the Vietnamese people. Over the years, many valuable works on the armed forces and revolutionary war have helped inspire patriotism and national pride, honoring generations of soldiers who sacrificed for independence, national unity, and territorial integrity.

Literary, musical, theatrical, cinematic, and photographic works, he said, have also contributed to affirming the historical, cultural, and military values of Vietnam.
Referring to the orientation set by the Party for national development, Nghia noted that culture and people form the spiritual foundation of society and an internal strength for the country’s progress.

In the military, cultural and artistic activities help build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern force, while preserving and promoting the noble qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers.”
He encouraged artists and writers to continue producing works of strong ideological and artistic value, especially those portraying the armed forces in the new era-from safeguarding national sovereignty to participating in peacekeeping missions and supporting communities in difficult areas.
