(News) Several buildings with European architectural style in Hanoi will be open for the public to visit on September 14 on the occasion of the European Heritage Day in the Vietnamese capital.

They include the French Embassy building, the Ecole française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO), the National Archives Centre I and an exhibition of the EFEO at the French cultural centre L’Espace.
The French Embassy said visitors to the Embassy building at 57 Tran Hung Dao will be guided around the garden within its premises and told stories about the site. Visitors will also be provided with drinks during the end of the tour.
At the EFEO at 5A Xom Ha Hoi Street, the school library will be open to introduce a collection of specialised documents and a photo exhibition to visitors of the National Archives Centres I will have an opportunity to look at archives from the French colonial period.
A special installation exhibition on Hanoi’s street vendors in the past will be held at L’Espace.
The European Heritage Day is an annual event to explore civil, military, religious and office buildings that are normally closed to the public. It is also an occasion to raise public awareness of protecting, renovating and honouring heritages.
