A contest titled “Understanding 80 Years of the Glorious Tradition of the Heroic Vietnamese People’s Army,” is set to award winners on December 20 in Hanoi.
This competition aims to create an academic and creative platform, encouraging participants to research and showcase their knowledge about the history and development of the Vietnamese People’s Army over the past 80 years.

It honors the army's achievements and contributions during various resistance wars, as well as its role in national defense and peacekeeping.
Participants are invited to highlight heroic stories and exemplary figures from different eras, along with the modern evolution of the army.
The contest consists of nine main questions and one supplementary question.
Participants can submit their answers, accompanied by relevant images and documentation, either in person or by mail to the Art Times office at the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies, 32 Hao Nam Street, Hanoi, or via email at tbvhnt@gmail.com.
The deadline for submissions is December 10.
Speaking at the kick-off ceremony for the contest last week, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the contest aims to honor the sacrifices and contributions of the Vietnamese People’s Army while inspiring patriotism and civic responsibility in national defense efforts. It also encourages creative expression in literature and the arts related to the military and revolutionary struggles.
“This contest encourages artists, the public, and overseas Vietnamese to contribute materials and images showcasing the army’s founding, growth, and traditions,” he said.
This initiative is part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese People’s Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).
