The second Press Gala 2020 and the awards ceremony for “Press Moments 2019” were held by the Nha Bao Va Cong Luan (The Journalist and Public Opinion) Newspaper under the auspices of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA).
The impressive prize went to Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan for his photo entitled "The people's soldiers".
The event was part of activities to mark the 95th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2020).
At the event, the most outstanding press photos captured in 2019 were honoured. “Press Moments 2019” offered a useful playground for photographic reporters to showcase their professional skills.
The event is expected to contribute to encouraging both creativity and innovation as well as new perspectives on press photos.
At the awards ceremony, member of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Thuan Huu, who is also Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education and the VJA’s Chairman, presented the main prize to Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan from the To Quoc (Fatherland) online newspaper for his work entitled “The people’s soldiers).
The A prize went to Nguyen Tat Son - Dang Thanh Hoa (from the Vietnam News Agency) for their work “The fight against plastic waste in the ocean”. The organising board also awarded several B and C prizes to others.
