To mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day (September 2, 1945-2025), and national reunification, the Military Arts Magazine and partners will present the art program “Verses Shaping the Image of the Nation” on August 14 at the Military Radio and Television Center, 165 Xa Dan Street, Hanoi.
Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, together with representatives from relevant agencies, conducted the program’s final rehearsal on August 11 in Hanoi.

Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To gives instructions during the final rehearsal.
He offered input not only on visual design, stage setting, and illustrative scenes but also on the script, recommending a more linear narrative flow, the use of more poetry in the narration, and a greater emphasis on the simplicity and rustic beauty of language.
He also stressed the need for swift coordination among functional units to fine-tune and perfect the program. Additional suggestions covered costumes, background music, and the inclusion of more traditional musical instruments to enhance artistic quality.

A scene from the program
Verses Shaping the Image of the Nation aims to bring audiences the essence and beauty of poetry, reaffirming that Vietnamese artists have not only given their lives on the battlefield but have also left behind timeless verses.
The program tells the nation’s history and honors the Party, the State, President Ho Chi Minh, and the soldiers of Vietnam through the language of poetry.
On a stage rich in visual artistry, the carefully selected works, from wartime verses born in the resistance zones to new creations reflecting the spirit of peace, will together recreate the image of the nation across eight decades.

People’s Artist Ta Tuan Minh performs a moving piece about soldiers.
The event is expected to welcome more than 300 guests, including delegates from military and civilian agencies and over 100 artists and performers.
It promises to be a meaningful cultural occasion, connecting writers, performing artists, and poetry lovers.
