Magical Vietnamese, a new television show, premiered on March 29 in Hanoi as part of the launch ceremony for the 2025 Vietnamese Language Appreciation Day and the 2025 Vietnamese Language Ambassador Contest.
A collaboration between the Vietnam Education Publishing House, VTV4’s Foreign Affairs Television Department, and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the initiative aims to enhance Vietnamese language education for the global diaspora.
Phung Ngoc Hong, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, emphasized that the program aligns with a government-approved plan to promote the Vietnamese language from 2023 to 2030. It seeks to improve teaching and learning effectiveness, ensuring language preservation, particularly among overseas communities.
Magical Vietnamese is an educational program for children abroad, incorporating folk literature to reflect national heritage.

Starting in April, the program will air on VTV4 weekly and be accessible on digital platforms. Beyond language instruction, it aims to instill cultural pride and a sense of belonging among young Vietnamese growing up in diverse environments.
Hong said that a key challenge is maintaining linguistic connections across generations, stressing the need for collaboration among educators, media, and overseas communities to develop comprehensive learning resources.

Delegates attend the event.
The Vietnam Education Publishing House is expanding free digital textbooks and working to integrate Vietnamese learning materials into public libraries worldwide. Future efforts will focus on digital transformation to improve accessibility.
“We hope this program not only preserves our cultural identity but also inspires a deep love for Vietnam among young generations worldwide,” Hong stated.
