Ten Outstanding Young Faces and 60 Promising Young Faces in the military for 2024 were honored at a ceremony hosted by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense last week.
The event, held annually, recognizes young military personnel who have achieved excellence in areas such as combat readiness, training, scientific research, culture, arts, and sports.
These awards celebrate the dedication, creativity, and leadership of military youth, who embody the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and contribute to the strength of military units and the integrity of Party organizations.

This year, 70 nominations were received, with 10 individuals selected as Outstanding Young Faces and 60 as Promising Young Faces - an increase of 18 nominations from 2023.
In his address, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang congratulated the honorees and highlighted the evolving nature of youth and union work in the military. He acknowledged the significant contributions of military youth in addressing new challenges, especially in celebrating national and military milestones.

General Giang urged the youth to continue cultivating revolutionary qualities, remain loyal to the Party and the people, and strive for innovation in scientific and technological advancements. He stressed the importance of enhancing training, combat readiness, and productivity while combating hostile ideologies.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of military rank promotions and early salary increases for some awardees.
The Ministry of National Defense also prioritized job assignments and promotions for several young officers, further emphasizing their role in shaping the future of Vietnam’s military.
