Young Vietnamese and Cuban officers deepen friendship and cooperation in Hanoi exchange

An exchange program between young officers of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces took place in Hanoi on November 28, marking the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960).

The program offered both sides an opportunity to strengthen ties through dialogue, information sharing, cultural activities, and field visits. These exchanges help young officers learn from one another’s experiences, broaden their perspectives, and better fulfill their responsibilities in their respective posts.

For the Cuban delegation, the visit is also a chance to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s culture, history, and people, while reaffirming their shared aspirations for peace, stability, development, and prosperity for both nations, and for the wider region and world.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board and leader of the Vietnamese delegation, stressed that such exchanges are deeply meaningful.

The Cuban young officers’ delegation visits several historical sites in Vietnam.

They help younger generations in both militaries appreciate the long-standing friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, while further advancing bilateral defense cooperation.

Colonel Fernando Quivillet Loyola, Head of the Political Department of the Eastern Command and leader of the young officers delegation of the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, emphasized that the program demonstrates the commitment of both sides to carry their traditional bonds into the future.

During their stay from November 26 to December 8, the Cuban young officers will visit historical sites and meet with various units of the Vietnam People’s Army.
