Vietnamese violin talent wins international music competition

Vietnamese violin talent Nguyen Nguyen Le has shared the first prize with another contestant from Japan at the awarding ceremony of the 12th International Competition Arthur Grumiaux, Belgium-Brussels 2019 at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels on March 10.

The annual international competition Arthur Grumiaux, named after the legendary Belgian violinist Arthur Grumiaux, is one of the prestigious music competitions in Europe.

This year, the competition attracted the participation of 70 young violists from 29 countries and territories. Candidates were divided into four age categories and Nguyen Nguyen Le, 10, a student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, was in Category A (10 years and younger).
