Fifteen outstanding collectives and 64 exemplary individuals were honored at the ceremony for the 1st Military Women’s Award held on October 15 in Hanoi, celebrating the 96th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union and the 16th anniversary of Vietnam Women’s Day.

Attending the event alongside 650 delegates, General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense, commended the dedication of military women.

General Phan Van Giang presents certificates of merit and Military Women’s Award to representatives of the 15 honored collectives.

He noted that from three female soldiers in the original 34-member Vietnam Propaganda Unit for Liberation 82 years ago, nearly 90,000 military women now serve across all fields.

Assigning future tasks, General Phan Van Giang outlined sixteen guiding words: “Resilience to Rise - Creative Intellect - Exemplary Discipline - Spreading Compassion.”

Speaking in response, Senior Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), pledged that the GDP will translate these directions into concrete action plans, creating optimal conditions for female personnel to advance professionally and contribute to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized Vietnam People’s Army.

General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense; General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Chairman of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, and other delegates talk with representatives of the collectives and individuals receiving the first Military Women’s Award.

The award recipients represent relentless dedication across diverse fields. In scientific research, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Phan Thi Huong, Lecturer at the Military Technical Academy, published 17 international papers and led foundational national defense research projects.

In culture and arts, Colonel People’s Artist Nguyen Thi Thu Ha served as General Director for large-scale formations and parades during major national anniversaries. In technology, female members at Viettel Group developed a management system that won the “Make in VietNam” award, directly driving corporate digital transformation.

Organized under the direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the GDP, the all-military award recognizes outstanding contributions to military building, defense consolidation, and national protection.
