Outstanding authors were honored at the closing ceremony and awards presentation of the “New Spring” poetry contest, held on March 28 in Hanoi.
Launched in December 2025, the contest focused on themes of people, springtime, homeland, the nation, and especially the image of the People’s Public Security soldier. In just over two months, it attracted more than 1,100 participants with over 3,000 entries. From these, 214 poetry clusters advanced to the preliminary round and were published on the contest’s official platforms.

Following several evaluation rounds, the organizing committee presented 24 awards, including one special prize for the most outstanding portrayal of the public security soldier, along with one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, six fourth prizes, and eleven impression awards for authors within the force.

Head judge Nguyen Tien Thanh expressed surprise at the strong response from writers nationwide, ranging from established literary figures to young and emerging voices, both professional and amateur.

Many entries explored familiar yet powerful themes such as family affection, love for the homeland, and national pride, while vividly portraying police officers in daily life and duty-highlighting poetry’s enduring role in nurturing the human spirit.
