Readers who love poetry come to Hanoi Poetry Day at Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature).

The event was organised by the Hanoi Literature and Arts Union and the Hanoi Writers Association.

Joining the poetic atmosphere of Vietnam Poetry Day taking place in many localities across the country on the full moon of the first lunar month, Hanoi Poetry Day was organised for the first time with the consent and direction of the Party Committee of Hanoi and Hanoi People's Committee.

Although it opened in heavy rain, the event attracted large numbers of people and tourists with its unique art performances.

Chairman of the Hanoi Writers Association Tran Gia Thai affirmed that the organisation of Hanoi Poetry Day aims to encourage writers and artists to create works of high ideological and artistic value to meet the needs of enjoying literature and art in the new era; and to bring literary and artistic works to all classes of people.
